Air Europa Adds Up to 40 Airbus A350s to Long-Haul Fleet

Air Europa confirms order for 40 Airbus A350-900s to renew its long-haul fleet and boost Latin American routes, announced at Fitur.

Air Europa officially presented this Thursday at Fitur the firm order, closed at the end of last year with Airbus, for the upcoming incorporation of up to 40 A350-900 aircraft. The event was led by the airline's president, Juan José Hidalgo, and Ville Arhippainen, Head of Sales for Western Europe for the aeronautical consortium.

The definitive agreement, signed last December and following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Dubai Airshow, constitutes the central pillar of the airline's long-haul fleet renewal project. Likewise, it represents the best guarantee to continue its expansion by using an aircraft that stands out for its advanced technology and the comfort provided by its design.

The A350-900 will allow the airline to continue offering the best onboard service, especially on routes to Latin America, which constitute the most distinctive part of Air Europa's offering. Its capacity for both passenger transport and air cargo, along with exceptional operational performance and efficiency, ensure compliance with the quality standards already enjoyed by the airline's customers.

The A350, designed to cover distances of up to 9,700 nautical miles or 18,000 kilometers non-stop, incorporates both the most advanced technologies and a state-of-the-art aerodynamic design that provide unparalleled levels of efficiency and comfort. Its latest-generation Rolls-Royce engines and the use of lightweight materials provide the advantage of reducing fuel consumption by 25%, as well as operating costs and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 can operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in its tanks.
