Air Europa Expands Alliances, Exceeding 400 Routes

Air Europa surpasses 400 available routes after forming new strategic alliances with international airlines in 2025: SAS, Hainan, and Avianca.

Air Europa closed 2025 with a significant increase in its activity in alliance with other airlines, which has allowed it to raise the available routes for its customers to over 400. The company added four new agreements throughout the past year that facilitate connections to other destinations through the issuance of combined tickets. All of this has contributed to increasing its activity, especially in long-haul operations, consolidating its strategic position from the Madrid-Barajas hub as a bridge between Europe and Latin America.

During the past year, the agreement with Avianca was reactivated, and new alliances were finalized with Hainan Airlines, SAS, and Smart Wings. With these latter two, Air Europa's reach in Northern and Central Europe has been boosted, thanks primarily to activity from Copenhagen and Prague airports. Meanwhile, with Hainan Airlines, there are now eleven Chinese airlines with which Air Europa collaborates. This aligns with the Asian country's strategy to establish a preferential corridor between its continent and the American continent, to which Air Europa contributes with its extensive network of destinations.

Currently, the company has nearly a hundred agreements with other airlines, allowing it to operate 168 codeshare routes, half of which are routes to the American continent. In addition to the choice this offers to all customers, it helps increase the volume of passengers to its own destinations. Codeshare agreements offer significant advantages for customers, such as the ability to check baggage through to the final destination, avoiding intermediate procedures and ensuring a more comfortable experience, or Business customers' access to VIP lounges at different airports, thus enjoying greater comfort during connections, among others. As part of its commitment to improving the passenger experience, Air Europa works with all companies to ensure that customers can obtain their boarding pass to their final destination on the airline's website, thereby simplifying the process and optimizing their journey.
